Figure this thread can be a catch all for all things WESCO. Mine as well start it out with some gossip we heard from TWO reliable sources. This relates to one of the better young guards in the area: Drew Magoay.
Magoay just completed his junior year at Shorecrest where he averaged 19 points a game. Last year was his last at Shorecrest as he is out of there for sure. One source said it was 100% done deal. He is either looking at heading to Glacier Peak where he has family or to Cascade. Here is where it gets interesting. Cascade High School is coming off a really nice year, but apparently parents aren't happy. There has been some talk from both parents and even admins at the school to go another direction. The parents are allegedly pushing for an AAU coach to take the reins at Cascade. That same AAU coach is close with the Magoay family and if he did get the job Magoay would then enroll at Cascade for sure.
Lots to shake your head at here: Cascade has been pretty bad the last few years. Their current coach won 14 games and led them to the playoffs last year. And now the parents want to go a different direction? Lame. Further lame are high school kids and their families hunting around for new places to play and even going so far as to imply that if specific schools hire the coach they want- they would offer their services to that school. Super lame.
