WIAA should be voting on the following amendments, rule changes, and handbook guidelines very soon... www.wiaa.com/MailDocs/Msg571/15-amendments-all.pdfA few that are "interesting" (1) 50% transfer rule with in 50 miles (2) Open gym "new guidelines" (3) Counting tournament basketball games: 3 or 4 day tournament = count as 2 games; 2 day tournament = count as 1 game

While I am still in favor of the proposed 50% transfer rule, the more time I've had to think about it the less excited I get.
The reality is that the only meaningful games the kids will miss out on include an out of town Christmas tournament (which means Les Schwab Invitational in Oregon for RB, Las Vegas for Garfield) and a few league games. However, the student-athletes being "recruited" still get an opportunity to play the meaningful games in which they transferred for...the state tournament! IMHO I think this proposed rule is a temporary start, but not a final fix.

From what I have gathered...
Next years STATE tournament will be same as last year...16 team regional and 8 go to Tacoma. No change.
